2. Delivery, security and operational logs
When you open LoveRadio, technically necessary data can be processed: IP address, date and time, requested address, referrer, user agent, response status, approximate country and security signals. This is needed to deliver the service, limit abuse, diagnose faults and keep it secure. The legal bases are Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for the service you request and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for secure and reliable operation.
LoveRadio is delivered through Cloudflare, Inc. and its global network. Operational logs are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for security and fault analysis. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, the provider's applicable adequacy mechanism or standard contractual clauses are used.
3. Radio directory, artwork and direct streams
Station metadata is obtained server-side from the community-operated Radio Browser directory. LoveRadio does not deliberately send your IP address to Radio Browser for every search. Artwork can be loaded directly from the address supplied by the broadcaster or directory.
When you press play, your device connects directly to the selected broadcaster or its streaming provider. That party receives ordinary connection data such as your IP address, time and user agent. This connection is necessary to play the stream you selected (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR); the broadcaster's own terms and privacy information apply. LoveRadio does not proxy, record or analyse the audio.
4. Local preferences and essential storage
Before sign-in, your chosen language, favourites and playlists are stored locally in your browser. They provide the feature you requested and are not used for cross-site advertising. You can erase them in your browser's site-data settings.
If you sign in, an essential, secure session cookie keeps you authenticated. Authentication, security, language and local storage for favourites and playlists are necessary or expressly requested and therefore do not depend on advertising consent. The free radio directory remains available without an account.
5. Optional LoveRadio account and social sign-in
An optional account synchronises favourites and playlists between devices. Depending on the sign-in method you choose, we process your email address, display name or profile image supplied by the provider, technical user and provider identifiers, session identifiers, hashed short-lived verification records, playlist names and saved station identifiers. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Sign-in attempts are rate-limited for security.
Email one-time codes and confirmation messages are sent through Cloudflare Email Service; plain codes are not stored and expire after five minutes. If you choose Google or Apple, that provider receives the request and returns the identity data you authorise. Google or Apple may independently process data under their own privacy terms. Account, session, favourite and playlist data is stored through Cloudflare D1.
Sessions expire after 30 days without renewal. Account, favourite and playlist data remains until you delete the account or request deletion, unless a limited record must be kept to comply with law or resolve abuse. Request access, export or deletion at alerts@sabfab.dev.
6. Optional news and marketing email
News, station recommendations and offers are sent only after a separate voluntary choice and a confirmation link by email (double opt-in). Creating or using an account does not require this consent. We record the account email, language, source, consent wording and version, requested and confirmed time, status and approximate country so that the consent can be demonstrated (Article 6(1)(a) and Article 7 GDPR).
You can withdraw consent at any time in your account or through the unsubscribe route in every marketing email. Withdrawal does not affect prior lawful processing. After withdrawal, we retain only the limited suppression and consent evidence required to honour the opt-out and defend legal claims, then delete it when no longer necessary. Transactional security emails remain separate from marketing.
7. Advertising, measurement and consent choices
LoveRadio is prepared to use Google AdSense to finance the free service. In the EEA, United Kingdom and Switzerland, Google's certified consent platform requests a choice before non-essential advertising storage or personalised advertising is used. Rejecting optional purposes does not block basic radio playback. Consent can be withdrawn through the privacy-choice control shown by the service.
Where you consent, Google and participating advertising partners may process device identifiers, IP address, browser information, approximate location, consent choices and ad interactions. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Where law permits limited contextual ad delivery without consent, processing is restricted accordingly. Advertising or announcements already included inside a broadcaster's audio stream are controlled by that broadcaster and cannot be removed by LoveRadio.
8. Recipients, transfers and no sale of account data
Recipients are limited to providers needed for delivery, security, storage, authentication, transactional email, consent management and advertising as described above. We do not sell your LoveRadio account email, favourites or playlists. Service providers act under their own terms or processing agreements and may use approved transfer safeguards for international processing.
9. Your rights
Subject to the legal conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Consent can be withdrawn at any time. You may also complain to a competent supervisory authority. For Berlin, this is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
